Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insists he’s focused on the job at hand and is not in talks with the club over extending his contract.

The Norwegian signed a three-year deal in 2019, meaning he’s midway through his tenure at the Theatre of Dreams.

Solskjaer achieved a top-four finish in his first full season at the club and they’ve reached four semi-finals in that time, though they’ve lost on every occasion.

Reports last week claimed United wanted to extend Solskjaer’s deal by a further two years given the club’s fleeting title challenge.

But Solskjaer insists he’s not held talks with the Red Devils over an extension, even if he insists he’s come through with his promise of stabilising the club.

‘I have not thought about that, and we have not discussed it at all,’ said Solskjaer.

‘I am just focusing on doing my job and part of the job is to stabilise things.”

‘On the inside it is more stable. We feel like we are on our way towards what we sat down and discussed, what we planned.

‘I know that there has been a lot of criticism and discussions about one thing or another.

‘But if you first set a course, then I at least have so much faith in myself that I do not waver too much.’

United take on Real Sociedad on Thursday in the Europa League, in what is looking the club’s likeliest route to silverware this term.

The Red Devils have won just one of their last five matches in the Premier League, leaving them seven points behind leaders Manchester City having played a game extra.

Solskjaer is expected to pick a full strength side with Mason Greenwood likely to come back into the side having started Sunday’s draw against West Brom on the bench.
