Kylian Mbappe looks more likely to leave Paris Saint-Germain in the near future than extend his stay at the club, says former Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev.

The 21-year-old has less than two years left on his contract in the French capital and speculation is rife over his future, with the likes of Liverpool and Real Madrid interested in signing the prolific forward.

The World Cup winner has been incredible since arriving at PSG from Monaco in 2017 for a fee of around £130m, scoring 130 goals in 205 games in all competitions.

The Ligue 1 giants would love to keep hold of him, but he has openly spoken of looking for a new challenge in the past, and Vasilyev thinks he will seek a move in the summer.

The Russian, having worked with Mbappe at Monaco, feels that his mind could be changed, but currently he sees his future away from Paris.

‘He is going to have to make very important decisions, and right now he seems more headed towards a way out,’ Vasilyev told Telefoot.

‘Nothing is impossible. Kylian is young and what he wants to win are titles.

‘Kylian is ambitious. He wants to win everything and break all the records.

‘If tomorrow PSG propose an ambitious project, where he feels comfortable and with options to go further and guarantees that he can win everything in his career, he could renew.’

Few clubs could afford the Frenchman, but he has hinted that he would be keen on a move to Anfield in the past.

Discussing Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool earlier in the year, Mbappe said: ‘What Liverpool do in this moment is amazing.

‘They’re like a machine, they’ve found a rhythm and are like “we play again, we play again”. When you watch you think everything’s easy, but that’s not easy.

‘The guys are focused, they play games every three days and they win, they win, they win.’
