There is increasing concern at Liverpool that Mohamed Salah will push for a move away from the club this summer.

Salah has this week hinted his future could lie at either Real Madrid or Barcelona, telling Marca he could ‘one day’ leave Liverpool for La Liga.

ESPN now report there is a ‘growing sense’ within the club that the Egypt international is weighing up a new challenge away from Merseyside.

Salah has two years left on his contract and the club and have no major concerns over his commitment to the cause with the forward leading the Premier League goal scoring charts alongside Harry Kane with 17 goals.

The club’s season run-in could also play a role in the player deciding on his future. A woeful defence of their Premier League title has seen Liverpool slip to seventh, 25 points behind champions-elect Manchester City, but Jurgen Klopp’s side are still in the running to win the Champions League for the second time in three years.

ESPN add however intermediaries who have worked closely with the club on previous deals believe a transfer this summer is possible.

There is also currently no indication that Liverpool are set to offer Salah a new deal improving his £200,000-a-week salary.

The club may look to delay a decision on his future until next summer but that would leave them in a situation where they could be forced to cash in for a much smaller fee with just 12 months left on his contract.

When asked this week if he is keen to experience Spanish football, Salah told Marca: ‘I hope to be able to play for many more years.

‘Why not? No one knows what’s going to happen in the future.

‘So… maybe one day, yes. It’s not up to me.

‘We’ll see what happens but I prefer not to talk about that now.’
