The bookmakers have made Jurgen Klopp is the shock new favourite to be the next Premier League manager to leave their post after Liverpool’s defeat to Leicester City on Saturday.

The Reds suffered their third straight Premier League defeat as the Foxes came from behind to beat the champions 3-1 at the King Power.

The loss, followed by Manchester City beating Tottenham at the Etihad, leaves the Reds 13 points off the pace in the Premier League title race and Klopp admitted after the game that his side will not be able to retain their title this season.

Liverpool are fourth in the table and could drop as low as sixth by Monday evening if Chelsea and West Ham win their upcoming fixtures.

The bookmakers have reacted and have slashed the odds on Klopp to be the next Premier League manager out of work, with Betfair cutting him to as low as 4/7 in the market.

Klopp is going through much more important problems than just his job, after the death of his mother earlier this week, with Liverpool’s form struggles only making a terrible time all the more difficult.

‘She meant everything to me. She was a proper mum in the best sense of the word,’ Klopp told German newspaper Schwarzwaelder Bote.

‘As a believer in Christ, I know that she is now in a better place. Owing to these terrible times, I can’t be at the funeral, [but] as soon as circumstances allow, we’ll hold a wonderful, fitting memorial for her.’

Second in line with the bookmakers to be out of work is Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson after a demoralising 3-0 defeat to Burnley at Selhurt Park left them 13th in the table.

Hodgson is available at 4/1 in the market, just shorter than Jose Mourinho at 5/1 after the Spurs boss watched his side beaten comfortably 3-0 by Manchester City.
