Manchester United will play host to bitter rivals Liverpool in what promises to be an enthralling FA Cup fourth round clash between the Premier League’s top two teams at Old Trafford.

The draws for the fourth and fifth rounds took place prior to West Ham’s 1-0 win over Stockport County on Monday evening and teams up and down English football’s pyramid will have been on tenterhooks as they learned their fate for the next stage.

Current holders Arsenal – the most successful team in the history of the competition – will travel to either Southampton or Shrewsbury Town, while Chelsea entertain Championship club Luton and Tottenham have a trip to Wycombe Wanderers to look forward to in two weeks’ time.

Elsewhere, Fulham will welcome Burnley in an all-Premier League fourth round tie at Craven Cottage.

Fourth round fixtures are due to play out across the weekend of January 22-25 while fifth round games are scheduled to take place from February 9-11.

On a potential meeting with Arsenal in the fifth round, he joked: ‘Let’s just get through the fourth one first!

‘That’s what we really wanted though, Premier League opposition.
