Both legs of the Champions League quarter-final between Chelsea and Porto will be played at Sevilla’s Estadio Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan stadium next month.

Flights to and from the UK are banned in Portugal, meaning both legs of the tie have to be moved.

Portugal was removed from the UK’s red list, but the ban still applies at the other end, so a solution has been reached, with the first leg on 7 April and the second on 13 April.

The first leg is officially Chelsea’s away leg, with the second the home leg for the Blues.

A statement from UEFA read: ‘UEFA is able to officially confirm that the Uefa Champions League quarter-final first and second leg matches involving FC Porto and Chelsea FC, will now both be played at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán in Seville. The dates of the matches (7 April and 13 April 2021) and the kick-off times (21:00CET) will remain the same.

‘Uefa would like to thank FC Porto and Chelsea FC for their support and close cooperation, as well as the Portuguese Football Federation, The Football Association, the Royal Spanish Football Federation and Sevilla FC for their assistance and agreeing to stage the matches.’

Chelsea had a pretty stress-free round of 16 tie to reach this stage, beating Atletico Madrid 1-0 in the first leg and 2-0 at home in the second.

Porto had a far, far more dramatic couple of clashes with Juventus, beating the Italian champions 2-1 at home before losing 3-2 away but winning on away goals after extra-time.
